Madigan Capital, a leading Australian real estate credit asset management firm, has announced changes to its senior leadership as it positions itself for further growth.
The firm is pleased to announce the following changes effective from 10 March 2025:
- Michael Wood, the firm’s founder, CEO and CIO, is taking on the responsibility of Executive Chair and retains his existing Investment and Credit Committee Chair roles.
- Chris Wilson, Madigan’s current COO, has been appointed CEO.
Chris started with Madigan in early 2023 and brings with him a wealth of funds management, debt and equity real estate transactional, legal, risk and operational management and leadership experience after 14 years in various senior roles at the Future Fund (Australia’s sovereign wealth fund) and various other corporate and private practice legal and commercial roles in Australia and the UK.
In his new role, Chris will continue to pursue the firm’s ambitious growth strategy alongside Michael and highly regarded industry veteran Barry Brakey, capitalising on the firm’s strong track record, high-quality team and operational excellence and extending these to deliver even stronger and more scalable investor/partner solutions and outcomes moving forward.

Chris joined Madigan in early 2023 after 14 years with the Future Fund, boasting 27 years’ experience spanning leadership roles in legal, investments, risk, HR and other functions relating to funds management, commercial real estate, structured finance, M&A and dispute resolution. Chris is skilled and experienced in designing and pursuing a wide range of successful strategic initiatives, business and investment imperatives and organisational change, as well as a deep understanding of commercial transactions across asset classes and jurisdictions. Chris is also passionate about building and developing high-quality, collaborative teams and strong organisational culture.
